2011 GBCA Construction Excellence Award
Philadelphia Marriott Downtown
Award for Best Commercial Project $5-15 million for the completion of renovations to the ballrooms, conference/meeting rooms, and common corridor spaces of the main hotel tower and Reading Terminal Headhouse. Project completed ahead of the 9-week schedule.
2010 Preservation Achievement Grand Jury Award
Franklin Institute, Franklin & Jordan Halls Renovation and Exterior Restoration
Erickson returned to the acclaimed Franklin Institute Museum for the restoration of the Franklin and Jordan Halls, home of the national monument of Benjamin Franklin. Renovations included marble work and dome cleaning, releafing of the original done, as well as state-of-the-art audio-visual and acoustical upgrades. Additional restoration and repair work was also completed to the Franklin’s exterior.

2009 GBCA Construction Excellence Award
PECO Green Roof
Erickson was contracted for the installation of PECO’s new Green Roof for PECO’s corporate headquarters. The project sprawled 48,000 square feet, and — after removal of the existing roof, and structural upgrades to the base surface — entailed the installation of a four-layered green-roof assembly.
Stacked layers include an underlying drainage board with leak detection system, root guard, and three inches of a supportive growth medium. The topmost layer will boast five different varieties of succulent flowering sedum, ensuring an attractive, hardy groundcover that will flower and flourish throughout the growing season.
2008 GBCA Construction Excellence Award
Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Public Space and Food & Beverage Renovation
This project entailed extensive renovations to the existing hotel lobby, rotunda and restaurant area.
The completed rotunda boasts a new lounge with sweeping semi-circular sushi bar, central fountain seating, lounge-style seating areas, as well as a separate sports-themed restaurant and bar area updated with high-end finishes.
2007 GBCA Construction Excellence Award
GAP International Headquarters, Phase II
Phase II of the Gap Corporate Headquarters project increased the building’s footprint by an additional 29,000 square feet, for a total of 71,000 square feet, and included renovation of office and conference spaces, a dine-in kitchen, as well as a spacious patio and exterior decks.
The new construction blended into the existing structure’s clean, sweeping profile, with an architectural emphasis on diminishing planes and concentric styling, and design details such as stepped ceilings, and traffic-friendly interiors.
Construction took place while the original building was fully occupied.
2005 GBCA Construction Excellence Award
Gift of Life Donor Program New Corporate Headquarters
This project is home to the 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art headquarters for one of the most active organ donor programs in the country. The project consisted of the nearly gut-demolition of the existing building as well as the complete demolition of an adjoining single story warehouse to create the new facility which includes corporate offices, surgical suites, 24/7 control center, teleconferencing space, conference rooms, and a 15,000 square foot parking garage.

The Franklin Institute Museum Fels Planetarium Renovation
The Fels Planetarium, originally constructed in 1933, was renovated with a brand new seamless dome — 60 feet in diameter — along with upgraded video projection and super-fidelity systems, theater controls, lighting, carpeting and new theater seating.

Wolf, Block, Schorr & Solis-Cohen Corporate Offices
This project covers seven floors and 160,000 sq. ft. at 1650 Arch Street, and highlights Erickson’s inhouse carpentry expertise and attention to detail. This project remained on schedule, attaining the original GMP of approximately $8 Million.

Gap International Corporate Headquarters
This 42,000 square foot new building on a 7-acre site features feng shui design and includes highend finishes such as a hard exterior consisting of granite, limestone, metal and glass, as well as a site pond and footbridge.

Blank Rome Comisky McCauley Corporate Cafeteria & Conference Center
This 12,000 sq. ft. project includes a corporate cafeteria & training facility with capacity for 300, as well as a high-tech teleconferencing center.

This 160,000 square foot law office relocation project was completed in only nine months.

This 130,000 square foot historic corporate law office conversion project includes all new finishes, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
