| As Construction Manager for Gap International's
new headquarters on a seven-acre wooded site, Erickson completed the
two-phased construction project on a fast-track schedule of only ten
months.
The building featured full-height glass curtain walls, free-floating
glass staircases, an entrance pond bridge, full-length reflecting
pool, and Feng Shui design, winning the GBCA's Building Excellence
Award for Commercial Building in 2000.
Phase II of the Gap Corporate Headquarters project increased the
buildings footprint by an additional 29,000 square feet, for
a total of 71,000 square feet, and included renovation of office
and conference spaces, a dine-in kitchen, as well as a spacious
patio and exterior decks.
The new construction blended into the existing structures
clean, sweeping profile, with an architectural emphasis on diminishing
planes and concentric styling, and design details such as stepped
ceilings, and traffic-friendly interiors.
